About Discoteca Plataforma

Discoteca Plataforma is a 470-person Poble-sec club in Barcelona whose present dance floor occupies the former Las Rías room, a 1982–83 punk venue where Decibelios, Desechables, Las Vulpess, T.N.T. and Código Neurótico played. That address’s earlier concert life gives Plataforma’s rock-and-folk programming a useful frame: live shows coexist with late-night DJ sessions in a compact club format. A family club with a punk-room past

The premises at 145 Nou de la Rambla had housed a dairy and laundry before the current club era; the building’s façade carries a 1933 date. Las Rías then operated here during 1982 and 1983, providing a scarce stage for Barcelona punk groups. Aurelio Roca opened Plataforma in 1986 with two partners, and became its sole owner during the 1990s. After 36 years at the business, Roca died in December 2022; control passed fully to his two sons, including Aureli Roca, who continues the family operation. The handover supplies the clearest recent chapter in a venue whose identity has stayed tied to the same Poble-sec address.

The room after the set

Plataforma’s schedule mixes concerts and live performances with club nights, operating Thursday through Sunday. Rock and folk sit within its concert offering, while DJ programming draws on current commercial tracks and 1980s and 1990s selections. The room has a billiard table by the cloakroom and multiple bars, physical details that fit its social, late-running setup. Expect a standing club environment suited to audiences who want the gig and the after-hours session in one place.
