About CrowdMate
CrowdMate is a free iOS app for finding live concerts and planning the night with friends. It is built and published by ClairAI SASU, a company registered in Paris, France.
What we build
Most concert apps tell you what is playing. The gap we kept running into was the part that actually decides whether you go: whether anyone you know is going too. CrowdMate puts friend activity on the event page — who is interested, who already has tickets — before you buy, and tells the friends who follow you when you mark a show.
Behind the app is a concert catalog we assemble ourselves, sourced directly from venues rather than resold from a single upstream feed. That is deliberate: the shows you hear about from a friend rather than a listings site are exactly the ones the big aggregators leave out, and a catalog built on someone else's feed would never surface them. The same catalog is sold to developers as ConcertAPI, a separate paid REST product.
Where we operate
- Live in major US cities, plus Île-de-France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Melbourne.
- 30,000+ upcoming concerts listed as of July 2026.
- iPhone only today. There is no Android app yet.
- Free to download and use, with no subscription or in-app purchases.
Coverage changes as we add venues, so the app itself is the authority on where it currently has events.
Who we are
Laurence Mertens
Mathieu Nicolas
Nicolas lived in Wicker Park, Chicago before moving to Paris. In both cities he has spent more nights than he can count in small, intimate venues — the kind you hear about from a friend rather than a listings site. He cofounded CrowdMate and builds the product: the iOS app, the concert catalog behind it, and the ConcertAPI data platform.
