About Casa Montjuic
Casa Montjuïc is a Poble-sec cultural venue in Barcelona with publicly undisclosed capacity. Its distinction is structural: a linked set of spaces behind Avinguda del Paral·lel, where the Sala Fosca black box presents experimental cinema and international and local avant-garde music, LAUT handles electronic club programming, and Tiberi Bar supplies food and natural wine. The result suits listeners who enjoy a show as part of a longer night across music, film and hospitality.
A new house for adventurous programming
Casa Montjuïc began its current life in spring 2023, according to Mostra Barcelona, as a contemporary multidisciplinary project in Poble-sec. The project occupies a run of premises on Carrer de Vila i Vilà, listed by Barcelona City Council as an “Espai Cultural i Gastronòmic,” framing the venue as a combined cultural and food-focused operation from the outset.
Its early identity has come through programming formats as much as individual headline names. Mostra Barcelona’s 2026 edition selected Casa Montjuïc for its opening ceremony, placing the space within a festival devoted to electronic music. Meanwhile, the house’s own agenda has paired solo artists including Steve Gunn, Colleen and Pharmakon with live A/V presentations, film programming and the MICELI festival. That mix gives the calendar a curatorial throughline: exploratory music arrives alongside adjacent visual and club culture.
Inside the room
Expect a booking policy centered on adventurous contemporary work: experimental and ambient electronics, left-field indie, improvisation, folk-rooted songwriting, jazz-adjacent sets, audiovisual performance and cinema. Sala Fosca is the key concert detail: a black-box room designed for focused listening and screenings, while LAUT provides the electronic-music club component. Tiberi Bar operates inside Casa Montjuïc with sharing plates and natural wines, making pre-show food and a post-set drink part of the venue’s setup.
