The Echo Lounge & Music Hall

The Echo Lounge & Music Hall is a 1,000-capacity concert room in Dallas’s Design District, built inside a former furniture warehouse near the Mavericks’ practice facility. Its distinguishing feature is scale with separation: a main hall, smaller lounge, VIP area and patio occupy 25,000 square feet, giving a touring-club show several places to gather around the set. The industrial shell informs the design, while the production setup was built for contemporary live music.

A delayed opening, then a compact Sting show

Announced in January 2020 as The HiFi, the project paired Mark Cuban with Live Nation to convert Cuban’s empty Design District warehouse into a club. A May 2020 launch gave way to pandemic delays, and an August 2021 date also fell away. Days before the eventual debut, the room adopted its current name after a trademark issue. It opened on November 1, 2021, with Mayer Hawthorne and India Shawn; the initial schedule mixed pop, rap, electronic and rock bills. On December 14, 2021, Sting played the 1,000-capacity room, a sharply scaled-down setting for an artist associated with far larger stages. The Dallas Morning News framed it as the new club’s first major show. That opening sequence captures the Echo’s lane: a polished Live Nation room for national tours alongside local acts, developed beside the Mavericks complex.

Expect a flexible, mostly general-admission setup: standing and seating are first-come, first-served for most events, while age rules vary by bill. The calendar ranges through indie, rock, electronic, hip-hop, pop, R&B, jazz and metal, with touring acts, local bills and dance-oriented events sharing the schedule. Physical comforts extend beyond the floor: the venue has an intimate lounge, an upstairs-style VIP component, custom bars and an outdoor patio. Arrive early if a preferred sightline or seat matters.
