House of Blues Dallas

House of Blues Dallas is a 1,750-capacity concert venue in Victory Park, housed in the former White Swan Building. Its sharpest distinction comes from the collision of warehouse history and interior design: a 1913 food-company warehouse now carries religious-symbol décor above the main stage and holds a collection of more than 1,000 folk-art pieces. The result is a midsize, full-service room built around a large Music Hall, with dining and bars folded into the same night out.

A warehouse opens its doors to Badu

White Swan Foods Co. built the brick warehouse in 1913. In 2007, Live Nation converted the historic building into Dallas’s House of Blues, its 11th branded location, during Victory Park’s redevelopment. The opening joined a 1,625-capacity Music Hall to a 400-seat restaurant, special-events facilities and the members’ Foundation Room, giving the former warehouse several distinct public and private uses under one roof.

The first concert arrived on May 8, 2007, with Dallas native Erykah Badu inaugurating the stage; her aftershow introduced the Cannabinoids, a new local-musician and producer collective. Production staff later named Badu and Joss Stone as early showcases for vocal detail, then George Clinton and Deftones as immediate tests of the system’s range. The original Electro-Voice rig split coverage between the floor and upstairs levels, a practical clue to the building’s two-tiered concert design.

The room on a show night

Today, House of Blues Dallas operates as a broad-format touring room, with rock, pop, R&B, metal, electronic, hip-hop, indie and country across its bill. Its rooms also host private concerts plus corporate and social events, supported by an in-house team that can arrange local bands, DJs and headliners. For concertgoers, the useful map is simple: the lower Music Hall has three full-service bars, a large stage and dance-floor area; the mezzanine adds VIP seating and suite boxes with clear stage views. Smaller Cambridge Room shows offer a built-in bar and a 300-person reception layout.
