About Reed's Local
Reed’s Local is a publicly unlisted-capacity, 21-plus bar venue in Chicago’s Avondale, built for close-range sets in a working neighborhood-bar setting. A tavern name changes
Reed’s current legal paper trail follows an older neighborhood tavern. License records list Wally’s Lounge, licensed to Walter Kozinski, at this exact storefront on December 9, 2010. A later record places Reed’s Local at the same address under Wally’s Lounge, Inc., with a tavern license issued February 21, 2025.
Those records connect two public-facing names, one address and one corporate identity, giving the place a specific through-line amid limited published building history. By October 2022, Time Out described weekly karaoke, open-mic comedy, board games, bubble hockey and live DJs at Reed’s. That snapshot closely matches the venue’s current self-description and calendar: an operation where a band night forms one part of a larger nightly routine, instead of a room reserved solely for concerts.
