About PRYSM

PRYSM is an 850-capacity, 21-plus venue in Chicago’s Lincoln Park area, built around electronic dance music, touring DJs and club-scale spectacle. Its defining feature is a 10,000-square-foot, two-level layout split among the Main Room, Mezzanine and No.9 Champagne Lounge, with a 20-by-20-foot LED wall framing the live-performance stage and DJ booth. The result is a room made for late starts, lights-forward sets and a crowd facing the booth.

A club remade for spectacle

PRYSM opened on July 15, 2016, in the former Crobar space at 1543 North Kingsbury Street. The launch converted a familiar two-story dance-club footprint into a luxury-leaning room conceived by Miami designer Francois Frossard; owners Jeff Callahan, Nick Karounos and Lucas King paired the redesign with an extensive lighting installation. Crobar and Nikki Nightclub came before it at the same address, giving PRYSM a direct inheritance from the Kingsbury Corridor’s nightclub history. In September 2017, after its first anniversary, managing partner Sean Winke described the project’s aim as a Miami- and Las Vegas-style party environment, with a central DJ booth downstairs and a second booth in an upstairs private room. That original design still explains the venue’s character: close-range dancefloor energy below, lounge and table territory above.

How the night is arranged

PRYSM books a hybrid mix of live music, private events and nightclub performances; its public calendar centers on electronic artists and DJ-led house, techno and club nights. The Main Room, Mezzanine and No.9 allow simultaneous or separate programming, while three full bars serve both levels. Sightlines favor the stage-facing floor and upstairs perch, and reserved seating runs through bottle service, placing the standard concert experience firmly in standing-room territory. Expect a polished, high-volume club presentation with intelligent lighting and video carrying as much visual weight as the performer.
