About Joe's on Weed

Joe’s on Weed St. is a Chicago hybrid: a 1,200-standing-capacity concert room and sports bar inside a 20,000-square-foot warehouse-style space near Lincoln Park. Its defining move is scale with split personality: the Clubhouse can hold a full concert crowd while the front bar runs games across 100-plus televisions and HD projectors. Country supplies the venue’s long-running center of gravity, while its bills also span indie, rock, alternative, Latin, electronic, R&B, and folk.

A country room with two big Chicago nights

Joe’s business began on January 14, 1997, with Ed Warm listed as president. The current venue frames that 1997 start around live music, sports, and private events in its warehouse-style room, and its Academy of Country Music recognition has included multiple club and nightclub awards alongside honors for Warm’s talent buying. On July 15, 2019, Garth Brooks opened his seven-city Dive Bar Tour at Joe’s, giving the room the first date of a tightly focused national run. June 24, 2022 brought another concentrated burst: Old Dominion played a surprise pop-up ahead of its Soldier Field appearance, opened with songs from the rooftop, and welcomed Kenny Chesney for “Save It for a Rainy Day.”

The room at showtime

Concerts center on the 8,500-square-foot Clubhouse, which has a permanent stage, spacious dance floor, three full bars, projector screens, and televisions. For elevated sightlines, the VIP Loft overlooks the Clubhouse and stage; the Alley Suite adds a raised stage view with its own bar and private section. Joe’s books touring and local acts, with artists invited to submit for review by the music team. The setup suits country crowds especially well, while leaving physical room for dance parties, tribute bands, rock shows, and mixed-genre bills.
