Concord Music Hall

Concord Music Hall is a Chicago venue between Wicker Park and Logan Square, with a published scalable capacity of 700 to 1,490. Its defining feature is scale: a mid-sized room that can shift for club-scale crowds or fuller touring bills, while its programming runs from electronic and hip-hop to punk, indie, metal, jazz and jam music. The former VLive nightclub setting gives the space a distinctly late-night, warehouse-adjacent feel, with columns rising from the parquet floor.

A club conversion born beside a troubled theater

Concord opened in 2013 when React Presents, Silver Wrapper and Riot Fest converted VLive at 2047 North Milwaukee Avenue into a concert venue. The deal set a 700–1,600 capacity range and put three promoters with roots in Spring Awakening, North Coast and Riot Fest behind a single Logan Square room. Early plans stressed a wide booking mix, a choice shaped partly by neighborhood concern around VLive’s late-night electronic events.

Its first week captured the local context. Adam Ant played on August 1, 2013; later that month, Gogol Bordello’s previously scheduled Congress Theater date moved to Concord while the nearby theater faced building-code violations. Concord’s own launch announcement positioned the Gogol Bordello show for the August 17 weekend. That transfer made the room an immediate landing place for a displaced large-club show, while the promoter partnership supplied punk, electronic, indie, hip-hop, funk and metal bills from the start.

The room now

Expect a standing-room concert hall geared toward national touring acts and DJ-led nights, with electronic, alternative, indie, rock, metal, pop and hip-hop all fitting the calendar. The main-floor pressure concentrates closest to the stage; a balcony and bar areas offer a calmer viewing option. Concord says it added acoustic paneling, an upgraded sound system, improved sightlines, reclaimed-wood interior details and accessible bars during its first three years. Coat check operates at events, and the box office opens during show hours.
