About ING Arena

ING Arena is a Brussels concert venue on the Heysel plateau, with capacity for up to 12,000 people. Its defining feature is its past life: the room began as Hall 12 of Brussels Expo, then reopened in September 2013 after a full conversion into a space for concerts, shows and major events. The result is a purpose-adapted arena inside an exhibition complex, suited to large productions and sizable crowds.

An expo hall recast for the stage

Hall 12 dates to 1989, when architect Jean van Pottelsberghe de la Potterie designed it for the Brussels Exhibition Centre. In 2012, Brussels Expo began reshaping the hall for concerts, sport, family shows and conferences: the plan included 2,500 fixed seats, a retractable 2,700-seat telescopic stand, a new entrance, restaurant and reception spaces. The refurbished Palais 12 opened on September 13, 2013, with a sold-out performance by The Australian Pink Floyd Show. That opening framed the venue as a major new room for Brussels-scale touring shows. A decade later, a partnership between Brussels Expo and ING Belgium brought the present ING Arena name in September 2023, under an agreement running through 2030.

A configurable big-room experience

The program is broad by arena standards, centering hip-hop, pop, alternative, rock, electronic, classical, metal and R&B alongside spectacle and sports events. ING Arena’s seating tiers surround a configurable parterre floor, and the venue advises guests that parterre layouts vary with each event. That flexibility makes the room a fit for standing-heavy pop or rap productions, seated presentations and hybrid arena setups. Expect the scale and production footprint of a major touring stop, with the exact audience configuration set show by show.
