Wings and Tins is a 35-standing Darlinghurst room where the show comes with baskets of wings and a fridge full of tinnies. Its small scale is the key draw: audiences gather in the former No Name restaurant at 2 Chapel Street, a back-street address with the close quarters of a bar function space. From red cordial to hot wings

The story begins in 1954, when Italian migrants Joe and Cesare Machi opened No Name restaurant to feed workers from the nearby Woolloomooloo docks. Its later entrance sat at 2 Chapel Street, reached by a rear door and stairway; Michael Scandiuzzo owned the restaurant through its final three decades. He closed it in 2017 after a half-century in hospitality, ending a 63-year run at the site. Wings and Tins arrived later that year, taking over the old No Name premises in August 2017. Founders Anthony Macfarlane and Alfredo Perez had met in Mexico two years earlier, bonding over surfing, wings and beer; Perez already ran Mexican wing business Wing Man. Their conversion carried one small remnant forward: free green cordial, a No Name house tradition. The contrast between the old restaurant’s inexpensive pasta-and-schnitzel routine and the new wing-and-tinnie menu gives this room a sharply specific local backstory.

The room now

This is a food-and-drink venue first, with live bills functioning best as close-up gatherings for friends who plan to eat before the set. VenueNow lists a maximum standing capacity of 35, plus private or semi-private event areas. Wings and Tins directs regular reservations online and asks groups above 10 to email the Darlinghurst team; private events can add a hired DJ or run a playlist through the Sonos system. Expect themed booths, fairy lights and a tight, busy floor, with the bar’s broad tinnie selection central to the night.
