About XOYO

XOYO in Shoreditch, London, is a 900-capacity, two-room club whose rebuilt Basement pairs a 600-person floor with 350 pixel tubes and six LED cubes overhead. Live shows use a 500-capacity configuration downstairs, while the 300-capacity Jungle upstairs runs separately. The split plan gives bills a clear choice between a concert-scale room and a smaller companion space under the same roof.

A print works, then a reset

In 2010, a joint venture including Boys Own founder Cymon Eckel, The Vinyl Factory, Bugged Out!’s Johnno Burgess, Field Day and Underage Festival figure Marcus Weedon, and Eat Your Own Ears’ Tom Baker opened XOYO in a converted Shoreditch print works. The original build placed a high-ceiling basement alongside a ground-floor room, setting the address up for gigs, club nights and one-off events.

The current chapter followed TEG MJR’s 2021–December 2025 tenure. Propaganda Independent Venues and new operator Kirk Allen took control, closed for a two-month overhaul, and reopened on January 31, 2026. The work brought a revised two-room design, new lighting and an upgraded Void system; Fleur Shore, Kidoo, St. David, BTAY, Shana G and Another George played the reopening party. That date matters for anyone carrying memories of an earlier XOYO: the room has fresh infrastructure behind the familiar name.

What the room offers now

Expect an electronic-led schedule: DJs, house, techno, drum & bass and all-night sets share the calendar with occasional live bills. Programming uses in-house events and outside promoters, with student nights in midweek and promoters carrying Saturdays. The Basement is the main live room, built around the upgraded Void rig and overhead lighting; The Jungle has a high-spec video wall and its own Void system. For a concert, the downstairs 500-live capacity is the number that matters.
