About Trinity Bar
Trinity Bar, trading as The Trinity, is a Borough High Street pub in London with a main-bar standing capacity of 70. Its clearest distinction sits in plain view: a steep-roofed, timber-framed Tudorbethan frontage with dormers and a central gable, an unusually theatrical shell for a pub whose music offer centres on DJ nights. The building sits beside Borough Underground, making it a compact, easy-entry option for a drink-led evening with programmed sound after dark.
A pub name with a century behind it
The site operated as the Hole in the Wall from 1899 until 2014, when it took the Trinity name. Southwark’s conservation appraisal places the building among the notable Borough High Street frontage: a prominent 1900s Tudorbethan pub, defined by its timbered treatment, pitched roof, gable and dormers. Those exterior details give the room a strong sense of place before a set even begins.
A second reset came with Fuller’s purchase of the freehold in August 2019. Following a major refurbishment, the pub reopened as a managed Fuller’s house in September 2020, adding the first-floor St George’s Room. That change matters for showgoers because the present-day Trinity is configured as a flexible pub and events space, with music forming one strand of the evening alongside food, sport and private functions.
The room today
Expect a pub-scale music night, led by electronic and pop-facing DJ programming, with indie, rock, metal, folk and R&B also appearing in the broader listings. The calendar also makes room for quizzes and private events, while the premises licence permits live and recorded music until midnight Sunday through Wednesday and until 2am Thursday through Saturday. The main bar holds up to 70 standing; upstairs, St George’s Room has its own private bar and seats 45, giving smaller gatherings a separate space. Craft and cask beer sit at the centre of the drinks offer.
