About The Brixton Jamm

The Brixton Jamm is a 600-capacity, multi-room live-music and club venue in London. Its distinguishing feature is scale with variety: a band room and bar sit alongside a courtyard and a Beach area, giving promoters several ways to shape a night. The house also carries the first in-house Martin Audio MLA Compact installation in a UK venue, a system introduced during its 2016 refit.

A pub site remade for the dancefloor

Jamm began around 2006 in the Old White Horse public-house building, whose wider history reaches back to 1750. The venue characterises its creators as a team of clubbers and music lovers; an account of a December 2006 event records Basement Jaxx’s Felix Buxton and Graeme Sinden launching their Inside Out club night at the Jamm pub. That places its early identity in DJ-led Brixton nightlife, while the venue says Adele’s first gig happened here.

The defining rebuild came in May and June 2016. Brixton Buzz reported that, after ten years of concerts, the main band room gained extra capacity, a stage moved about five metres back, artist facilities, a new PA, and a redesigned outdoor area. The work supplied a practical change as much as a cosmetic one: full live-band backstage provision alongside the new sound system.

Four spaces, one programme

Today, bookings cover promoter-led club events, live gigs, parties, brunches, drinks, and private hires; enquiries go directly to the venue team. Music leans toward hip-hop, house, UK garage, and drum & bass, though international DJs and bands share the programme. For concertgoers, the key practical detail is a four-area footprint: the Club has a stage, large LED screen, and Martin Audio system; the Courtyard provides covered heated booths, an outdoor bar, and a 360-sound DJ point. The Beach adds a retractable roof, sand floor, and its own bar.
