About Next Door Records

Next Door Records is an 80-capacity venue in Shepherd’s Bush, London, where the concert room remains visibly tied to its daytime life as a record shop, café and workspace. Founded around crate-digging culture, it carries that premise into the evening: vinyl sits alongside natural wine and cocktails, while bills move between small-band gigs, DJ sets and release parties. It is a compact choice for listeners who want performers and selectors at close range, amid the shelves and social traffic of a working music shop.

Built from a crate-digging idea

Next Door Records began in 2020, founded by Thom, Louis and Alfie as a space for records, live gigs, wine, DJ culture and food. The company was incorporated on 30 June 2020, with retail music sales and performing arts listed among its activities, putting the shop-and-stage format at the core of the venture from its first year. Its original Uxbridge Road site has kept that split identity: daytime café and workspace, evening bar and venue.

The programme gives the concept a useful scale. Record Store Day on 18 April 2026 brought Nina Yamada, Jacob Trip, Jiminy Watts, Luca & Sol, Maximilian FD and Penzik & Burns into the room, while the 2026 listings also include jazz groups such as the Erin Bradley Jazz Quartet and the Reuben Goldmark Trio. These bills show a space built for local scenes, release events and specialist selectors instead of a single fixed genre lane.

The room after dark

Live-gig and DJ-booking contacts operate separately, a practical sign that Next Door Records programs both band-led nights and selector-focused events. Jazz, broken beat, dub, reggae, house, techno and garage shape the record stock; the calendar extends that palette through jazz quartets, trios, house bills and electronic showcases. Expect a bar-led, standing-room feel within the shop’s café-and-workspace footprint, with drinks including wine, cocktails and keg beer supporting the show. Large-group table bookings are also available, which suits a pre-show meet-up as readily as a late set.
