About Mission Ballroom

Mission Ballroom is Denver’s 3,950-capacity, 60,000-square-foot concert hall in RiNo, operated by AEG Presents. Its central design move is a mobile stage that reshapes the room for crowds between 2,200 and 3,950; tiered rows also give at least half the house access to seating. That adjustable scale suits a theater-sized crowd while preserving a broad, arena-ready floor and a shared-room feel.

Built for the middle distance

The hall began as a purpose-built anchor for North Wynkoop, a 14-acre mixed-use development. In April 2018, AEG Presents Rocky Mountains and Denver developer Westfield Company announced the project, after AEG spent eight years searching for a site that could serve the gap between its theater properties and Colorado’s larger concert settings. The construction plan centered on flexible stage technology, changing the room’s footprint according to each show.

Mission Ballroom opened on August 7, 2019, with Denver band the Lumineers christening the stage. The opening run continued two days later with Trey Anastasio Band performances on August 9 and 10, followed by Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue on August 12. That opening-week sequence established the venue’s intended range: hometown-scale celebration, jam-band two-nighters, and touring bills built for a substantial indoor crowd.

The room in use

AEG Presents runs Mission Ballroom as a touring-contemporary-music room, with a calendar that spans alternative, rock, electronic, metal, folk, indie, hip-hop, and pop; the building also takes corporate and private-event bookings. For a concertgoer, the defining practical features are the tiered seating rows, a large dance floor, in-house sound and lighting, and full-service bars distributed around the room to keep traffic moving. Pick the floor for proximity and momentum; choose the tiers for a clearer overall view of the stage.
