About Globe Hall

Globe Hall is a 250-capacity live-music room in Denver’s Globeville, where a barbecue restaurant and a former Croatian and Slovenian meeting hall share one address. The building’s 1903 lodge history gives the place an unusually direct connection to the neighborhood’s immigrant social life; today, smoked brisket and a back patio sit alongside a compact standing concert hall. This is a room built for close range, with dinner available before the show.

A lodge hall becomes a club

Globe Hall’s story begins in 1903, when the building opened as a Croatian and Slovenian meeting lodge. Its later life included the Sidewinder Tavern before Jeff Cornelius took control in 2015 and recast the site as a Texas-style barbecue restaurant, dive bar and music hall; Globe Hall opened on November 4, 2015. The conversion joined an approximately 200-person room to a dining space and patio, while retaining architectural details of the old hall.

A change came quickly. In January 2017, Cornelius announced a sale to Scott Campbell, with the transition slated for February 1. Campbell already operated Larimer Lounge and Lost Lake and said the kitchen team and menu would continue; an audio-system upgrade formed part of the handover. His booking plan retained bluegrass, blues and alt-country while adding rock, indie rock and hip-hop.

The room now

Globe Hall takes booking inquiries directly, and its form asks for genre, an artist link, the group’s Denver draw, and confirmation that every band member is 21 or older. Programming covers country, rock, jazz, folk, alternative, indie, metal and pop. The concert room runs standing general admission; seating is available in the bar and restaurant section, with accommodations available through staff. Kitchen service starts at 5 p.m. on show nights and continues until food runs out, so a brisket-and-beer arrival makes sense before doors.
