About Silo Brooklyn

SILO Brooklyn is a 500-capacity club at 90 Scott Avenue in East Williamsburg, New York City, built inside a former hangar. Its defining feature is a purpose-built audiovisual room: a custom Danley sound system pairs with eight high-contrast projectors that map a seamless image across the ceiling and walls. That setup places DJ sets, lighting and projected visuals on equal footing, while the building also supports multi-genre concerts and events.

From Secret Loft to a legal home

SILO grew from Secret Loft, the underground party operation started by Alex Neuhausen and Lilly Wolfson in 2012 inside a converted Williamsburg auto garage. Their parties moved through larger spaces as the project developed; by 2017, Secret Loft had a commercial Manhattan room with capacity for 80 people. The Scott Avenue project gave the pair a far larger canvas: a former hangar that had housed an electrical contracting shop a decade earlier.

After three years of planning, fundraising and construction, SILO opened publicly on February 10, 2023. The conversion involved rebuilding the shell and slab, adding utilities and insulation, then fitting the room for performance use. Its opening weekend included CIRCE on February 11, a dance bill led by Cassy, Tara Brooks and Yonit. The origin story matters because the club was designed around the production demands of the parties that preceded it, instead of adapting a finished bar or warehouse room after the fact.

The room today

Dance music leads the calendar, with DJs, producers, vinyl-focused nights and recurring Open Decks sessions creating a clear route for emerging local selectors alongside touring acts. SILO’s stated booking direction centers underground dance communities and an open-minded approach to sound. For a showgoer, the practical draw is the flexible plan: a front foyer and café sit before a rear performance hall with a stage, and a large sliding gate can join or divide those spaces. A ground-floor wheelchair-accessible entrance serves the single-story building.
