About Our Wicked Lady

Our Wicked Lady was a roughly 200-capacity East Williamsburg venue in Brooklyn, permanently closed since July 21, 2025. Its distinguishing feature was an artist-built setup: a bar and performance space attached to rehearsal rooms and studios, capped by a 1,600-square-foot rooftop terrace. For a decade, that combination gave developing bands a place to rehearse, play, and meet an audience under one roof.

A warehouse made into a stage

Zach Glass and Keith Hamilton, who met while working at Brooklyn Bowl, opened Our Wicked Lady in 2015 after taking on an unfinished warehouse that had dirt floors, limited plumbing, and no electricity. Early plans paired a 1,200-square-foot bar with band-practice rooms, artist studios, and the roof deck; the finished venue grew around that multidisciplinary premise.

The ending carried its own hard date. Financial pressure following the pandemic prompted a late-2024 fundraising campaign and a search for a buyer. Supporters raised over $42,000, yet the landlords declined a proposed sale that would have kept a music venue in the building. Our Wicked Lady closed on July 21, 2025, around its tenth anniversary; The Mystery Lights, the first band to play the room, were part of the closing-night bill.

What the room offers today

There is no current concert room at the Morgan Avenue address. The physical experience that visitors knew combined a ground-floor bar and live-show space with an upstairs rooftop bar: open-air in warm weather and winterized in colder months. Programming encompassed local-band showcases, live shows, rooftop dance parties, and karaoke, with a strong role for emerging indie acts. Glass and Hamilton’s booking operation continues as Our Wicked Lady Presents, currently booking at The Gutter BK and Brooklyn Music Kitchen.
