About Music Hall of Williamsburg
Music Hall of Williamsburg is a 650-capacity, standing-room concert venue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Its three-level design gives a club-scale crowd several ways to take in a set: a main floor, side balconies and a rear mezzanine. The detail shaping a visit in 2026 is the clock: Bowery Presents says its lease at 66 North 6th Street ends at the close of the year, making this the venue’s final season in the room formerly called Northsix.
Northsix, Patti Smith, and the last lease
The building began its concert life as Northsix in spring 2001, joining an early wave of Brooklyn music rooms. In September 2007, Bowery Presents reopened the renovated former Northsix as Music Hall of Williamsburg; Patti Smith and her band christened the new name on September 4. The opening program also placed Vampire Weekend and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah on the first week’s calendar, a concise picture of the indie-focused booking ambition behind the conversion.
The next decisive date is December 2026. Bowery Presents’ co-partners announced in December 2025 that the building owners would end the lease at year’s close, leaving a relocation or closure ahead for the Music Hall brand. For attendees, that gives shows here an unusual historical frame without turning every bill into a farewell event.
The room today
Bowery Presents operates the room and lists ticketed concerts through its own calendar. The programming remains broad within a club format, with indie-rock, punk, hip-hop, singer-songwriter and experimental bills sharing the schedule. Expect a general-admission experience centered on the main floor; select events sell Preferred Mezzanine access to the house-left second-floor mezzanine, where limited lounge seating is available first come, first served. Three bars, side balconies and the rear mezzanine create useful alternatives for viewers seeking a break from the floor’s density.
