Five's Jacksonville

FIVE is a 1,250-capacity live-music room in Jacksonville’s Five Points, set inside a renovated 1927 theatre. Its clearest audience advantage is elevation: a tiered main floor and second-story mezzanine face the stage, giving a broad range of standing positions a useful view. The scale puts touring bills in a theatre-shaped space, with the old cinema’s structure still part of the evening.

A cinema becomes a concert hall

The building opened in 1927 as the Riverside Theater, then passed through several entertainment uses before its Sun-Ray Cinema chapter. Sun-Ray operated a two-screen movie house here from 2011 until July 6, 2024, when its lease expired after the building changed hands; the new owner planned a renovation and declined a renewal. Two days after the final screenings, Nashville-based venue operator Marathon Live announced FIVE for the site.

The conversion arrived in May 2025. BoyWithUke inaugurated the stage on May 13, launching a venue whose first week also included country singer Kameron Marlowe and the Reggaeton Rave. That opening sequence sketches the room’s working premise: a mid-sized stop for touring artists, with genre shifts built into the calendar instead of a single-scene identity.

The room today

FIVE’s calendar moves across alternative and rock shows, pop, hip-hop and R&B events, electronic dance nights, comedy, and age-specific parties. Entry rules vary by event, with several listings carrying 18+ or 21+ limits. The box office also fields private-event rental inquiries, making the hall available beyond concerts. Inside, the tiered floor and mezzanine remain the key sightline features; bars, box office, and guest services run cashless, so bring a debit or credit card.
