BETTY

BETTY is a 300-capacity live club on Hamburg’s St. Pauli strip, operating from the former headCRASH at Hamburger Berg 13. Its defining feature is a genuine two-room approach: an upstairs concert club for established acts and a ground-floor Newcomer Stage for developing local performers. A 2025 change of hands

BETTY opened in 2025 in the rooms previously occupied by headCRASH, under PAKT Entertainment. The conversion carried a pointed local reference: the club takes its name from Betty Heinemann, wife of banker and hospital founder Salomon Heine. Hamburger Berg itself carried the name Heinestraße from 1865 until 1938, when the Nazi regime erased that commemoration. [1,4]

The switch arrived with substantial technical rebuilding. In August 2025, Hamburg’s governing parties announced planned support of €171,000 from the Sanierungsfonds Hamburg 2030 for sound insulation and sustainable equipment; BETTY was scheduled to open that September. The plan split the building between an affordable professional platform for younger regional artists downstairs and a roughly 300-person upstairs room aimed at established indie, rock and pop artists. Two floors, two uses

For concertgoers, expect an upstairs 135-square-metre club space with a 6-by-4-metre raised stage, its own bar, and room for up to 270 ticketed guests; the 300-person figure includes guests beyond the sellable allocation. Downstairs, a roughly 60-square-metre bar holds 60 to 80 people and functions as the Newcomer Stage. BETTY’s calendar centers rock, indie, alternative, pop and electronic music, alongside DJ-led party nights; weekends can use both floors as dance spaces.
