About Bambi Galore

Bambi Galore is a 150-capacity concert room in Hamburg-Billstedt, carved from a former water bunker beneath the Kultur Palast. The 110-square-metre room’s vaulted ceiling and thick concrete walls give metal gigs a sealed-in, low-ceilinged character, with the crowd close to the stage. Its scale is the point: international touring bills and local support acts play inside a compact club built for physical proximity and direct impact.

The Bunker’s Route to Revolt!

The route to Bambi Galore began with the Kultur Palast’s 1996 “Wasserbunker” initiative, created to expand its small hospitality area and establish a proper music club in the cellar vault. Funding and permits arrived in 2001; three years later, the restaurant opened upstairs and Bambi Galore opened below. The early programme moved across genres, while metal nights under the Revolt! banner steadily drew a wider crowd. In March 2007, Revolt! became a formal recurring series, pairing international metal acts with local emerging bands. A decade later, on June 17, 2017, Revolt! presented Dutch death-metal group Asphyx alongside Shirenc plays Pungent Stench, Fäulnis and others for the opening of the Kultur Palast’s new Kronensaal, showing how the club’s metal strand had grown into a major house event.

The Room’s Working Details

Bambi Galore books across several styles and event concepts, with a stated role as a professional stage for newcomers. Metal provides the clearest through-line through Revolt!, while punk, rock, reggae, ska and medieval-music concerts also appear in its remit. Inside, a central colonnade divides the room between a bar-and-lounge section and the performance area; the latter can take a variable live stage or dancefloor. A fixed bar, dedicated entrance, strong sound isolation, and live/DJ lighting and audio make this a functional, close-range venue for loud shows.
