About Uber Arena

Uber Arena is Berlin’s 17,000-capacity indoor arena, built for full-scale concert productions as well as hockey, basketball and shows. Its calling card is the half-round, 1,440-square-metre LED glass facade: an exterior display large enough to give the building a distinct presence before anyone reaches the bowl. Inside, the venue combines fixed seating, a configurable floor and extensive premium spaces, placing it firmly at the city’s arena-scale end of live music.

A railway-yard site, three names

AEG developed the arena on the former Ostgüterbahnhof rail-yard site between Ostbahnhof and Warschauer Brücke. The first stone went down on September 13, 2006; after 728 days of construction, the building opened as O2 World on September 10, 2008. Telefónica O2 Germany held the original naming rights, while AEG served as builder and operator. The venue’s history is unusually visible in its successive signs: O2 World gave way to Mercedes-Benz Arena in July 2015, then Uber assumed naming rights on March 22, 2024, extending the rebrand to the adjacent music hall and entertainment district. The present name therefore marks a fresh commercial chapter for a room designed from the outset for fast conversions between touring productions and resident sport.

The room today

Uber Arena books the large touring circuit: pop, rock, rap, international stars, comedy and family-scale productions, alongside Eisbären Berlin hockey and ALBA BERLIN basketball. Concert layouts can use an end stage or center stage, each with either seated or standing floor space, so the experience hinges on the tour’s configuration and ticket block. There are 9,488 fixed seats, 19 food outlets and a cocktail bar; every point of sale runs cashless. For premium viewing, the World Dinner Restaurant looks into the bowl during center-stage concerts and sports.
