About Monster Ronson's Ichiban Karaoke

Monster Ronson’s Ichiban Karaoke in Berlin is a 21+ karaoke club built for both small crews and a full-room singalong. Fourteen private cabins sit alongside an open stage, with the bookable stage configured for groups of 40–60; the venue also hosted over 500 customers on busy pre-pandemic nights. Its defining feature is that split personality: a booth-based karaoke bar that regularly becomes a drag-show, dance-music and audience-performance room.

From Kreuzberg Sing Inn to Warschauer stage

Founder Ron Rineck arrived in Berlin in 1999, began running mobile karaoke parties around Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland, and opened Monster Ronson’s Sing Inn in 2004 in a former brothel near Schlesisches Tor. The first room had three cabins. In December 2007, Rineck moved into the larger Warschauer Straße space, where the plan expanded to nine cabins and a large Elvis room; the relocation is also dated to 2008 in a later account of the venue’s history.

A second defining chapter came in 2020. Berlin’s June 27 ban on indoor group singing left the club unable to operate, even as other bars reopened. During a limited June reopening, capacity was capped at 60 guests and the main stage, used for drag shows, concerts and open-mic karaoke, remained closed. A full post-pandemic reopening followed on May 21, 2022 with live sets by Tami T and Karma She, drag performances and DJs across multiple rooms.

How the room works now

Expect karaoke first, with pop-song choice, drag-hosted events and dance-music nights shaping the programme. Open-stage karaoke begins at 21:00 Sunday through Thursday and 19:00 on Friday and Saturday. Mondays are Boxhopping nights, when cabins open up for guests to circulate and meet; private cabins can be reserved on selected weeknights and Sundays, while the stage is available for private groups. The layout favours active participation: intimate boxes for a group set, then a larger shared floor and stage when a public performance feels right.
