Donau115 is a 50-capacity micro jazz bar in Berlin’s Neukölln, whose street-facing shop window puts performers almost at pavement level. A bar that found jazz

Donau115 began in 2012 when Niklas Alt and Chad R. Matheny took on the former L&G Security premises as a free space for themselves, friends and neighbours. Jazz arrived through that open-ended start, becoming the venue’s core while experimentation remained part of its identity. Three years later, its programme earned the 2015 APPLAUS venue-programme award, a concrete early marker for a tiny bar working on Berlin’s jazz circuit. Two-Song Tuesday preserves the original open spirit: assorted artists receive ten minutes each, making the evening a fast-moving sequence of brief live propositions. Alt and Matheny remain the named representatives of Donau115 GbR.
