About Railhouse Bar
Railhouse Bar is a Kyle, Texas, room serving the Austin–San Marcos corridor, with reported capacity of 300–500 indoors and 1,500 outdoors. Its defining feature is scale flexibility: a bar-room bill can use the indoor stage, while larger dates can spread into the yard and outdoor stage. That split gives local showcases, DJ parties and regional touring bills markedly different shapes at one address.
A site rebuilt for the stage
Railhouse’s story begins under another name. Six co-owners, including Colleen and Brad Naumann, opened Down South Railhouse in March 2015 inside the former Railroad BBQ on Center Street. The concept combined a bar and indoor restaurant with live music, food trucks and games; that year’s second construction phase added an outdoor bar, sand-volleyball pit and outdoor stage, taking the stated site capacity to 1,500. Cory Morrow was booked for the new stage’s first major concert on October 24, 2015.
Pandemic conditions closed the later Railhouse BBQ in 2020. On September 23, 2021, part-owners Trevor Fletcher and Flip Lockhoof reopened the place as Railhouse Bar under a new management team. The reopening put live music back in the plan, alongside new speakers, a refreshed stage, a food truck, billiards, shuffleboard, and indoor and outdoor seating.
The rhythm of a Railhouse night
Railhouse programs its calendar as a bar schedule with ticketed concerts threaded through karaoke, bingo, trivia and DJ nights. Recent listings show Latin dance bills, rock tributes, country-rooted acts and electronic DJs, matching its broad genre spread. Shows default to 21+; individual listings can allow minors with a parent or guardian. Expect an informal indoor/outdoor setup, with a bar-led social atmosphere and limited on-site parking; the venue encourages rideshare for busy shows.
